RAD’s S-RPT/EFM extends the transmission range of SHDSL or SHDSL.bis modems operating on up to 4-wire lines, using standard Ethernet in the First Mile technology. Part of RAD’s solution for Migration to Next Generation Networks and Services, this SHDSL repeater can double the transmission distances. Ideal for typical DSL applications, such as alongside highways, railways, pipelines, power lines, and waterways, as well as DSL transport to remote concentrators in rural or remote areas, and communication lines to military, construction or temporary field camps and sites. Installed between two SHDSL modems, the S-RPT/EFM regenerates the received modem signal faultlessly. It employs TC-PAM 16/TC-PAM 32 technology and can be quickly and cost-effectively deployed in daisy-chain topology. The S-RPT/EFM complements RAD’s Megaplex-4 and its MPF (Megaplex Power Feeding device) to provide EFM connectivity and bonding to the ASMi-54L, LA-210, ASMi-53, or to 3rd-party devices complying with SHDSL.bis standards.

S-RPT/EFM is available in two compact enclosures:
• Tabletop version for indoor use
• Weatherproof housing for outdoor installations

The Megaplex-4 Next Generation multi-service access node version 4.1 is now released with Controlled Availability (it can be shipped to selected customers with a proven application). It is also available for testing and demo purposes.

Additionally, the new SW release enhances the management security access by featuring TACACS+ support, allowing centralized authentication and access control and access control rules per Layer 3 and Layer 4 criteria for filtering unauthorized traffic to the device management

RAD is pleased to announce the release of RADview version 3.40. RADview is a modular and scalable Element and Network Management Systems (EMS/NMS). This release features two new modules – a service manager module (SM) for end-to-end service provisioning and a performance monitoring portal (PM).

RADview’s new Service Management module, a major building block of RAD Service Assured Access solutions, allows carriers, service providers and utilities to easily and quickly provision and monitor MEF-based Carrier Ethernet services. RADview greatly simplifies the building of Carrier Ethernet services – from point-and-click service creation, through FCAPS management, to SLA monitoring – all performed over a user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI), thus significantly reducing OpEx.

RADview’s new Performance Monitoring (PM) portal lets carriers and their customers conduct online service level monitoring of Carrier-Ethernet SLA key performance indicators (KPI) based on Y.1731 OAM, set violation thresholds for each of the KPIs, and display network behavior in a Web-based graphic interface. The PM portal prevents SLA violations through early detection of network performance degradation and ensures that quality of service is maintained.

LRS-102 is a low-cost, high-density managed solution for collocating TDM and PSN services,providing simple, plug-and-play connectivity over fiber and copper lines. The LRS-102 rack has 12 slots that accommodate up to 12 individual I/O modules. The ASMi (copper) and Optimux (fiber) modules allow extension of u to 24 Ethernet and up to 96 E1/T1 link. All modules are hot-swappable and can be replaced or removed during operation without causing interference to data transmission between other modules in the chassis.

ASMi-52 is a dedicated managed SHDSL modem that extends the range of high-speed services over existing copper pairs. The modem is used for point-to-point Ethernet, serial ports (V35, X21) or E1/T1 service extension at rates of up to 2.3 Mbps over 2-wire lines and up to 4.6 Mbps over 4-wire lines. With extensive service delivery, performance monitoring and service protection capabilities, ETX-203AX and ETX-205A handle up to 5 Gbps of user traffic, transporting it to a redundant Gigabit Ethernet network port. Traffic is handled at wire speed with differentiated, Quality of Service (QoS) and end-to-end SLA monitoring, ensuring carrier grade performance and Five Nines (99.999%) reliability.
ETX-203AX is a cost-optimized product offering fixed combinations of SFP and copper interfaces. ETX-205A offers flexible combo ports, reducing total cost of ownership by allowing customers to use the same product for any mixture of fiber and copper interfaces at GE and FE rates.
ETX-205A is also offered with optional synchronous Ethernet and 1588v2 PTP timing infrastructure, mainly for mobile backhauling applications where it functions as a Mobile Demarcation Device (MDD).
ETX-203AX and ETX-205A share the same software version and offer the same functionality, operation commands (CLI) and feature set. Both cab be managed by RADview EMS version 3.10

  1.      Carrier Ethernet Access

In recent years, new industry standards have transformed Ethernet into a high speed transport method over metro and wide area networks and a widely-accepted, carrier grade service suite. Layer 2 Ethernet services have become an attractive alternative to legacy leased lines and ATM or Frame Relay VPNs. This new breed of services enables simplified operations, higher throughput and better economics. At the same time, it requires clear demarcation at the customer premises to monitor and enforce SLA agreements, and to provide adequate service control using OAM capabilities.

 

 2.      Cellular Backhaul

The bandwidth upsurge associated with the rollout of new mobile broadband and 4G services shifts the transport burden to the RAN (radio access network) backhaul – the connections between the base stations and their controllers. While in the past a small number of E1/T1 links were sufficient to service 2G and some 3G traffic, the bandwidth requirements of HSPA, 3GPP’s UTRAN LTE and mobile WiMAX are of a different scale altogether, leading cellular operators to re-evaluate their backhaul strategy.

 

 3.      TDM Access (Multiservice Access Platform)

Despite a gradual migration to packet-based networks, SDH/SONET technology still accounts for the largest number of deployed transport networks in the world. At the same time, there continues to be a significant installed base of TDM CPEs for data and voice services. In parallel, there is increased end-user demand for newer Ethernet services and a growing transition to Ethernet-based CPEs. Because this intermediate period is expected to continue for some time, service providers and end users should choose product solutions with maximum versatility at optimal cost.

 

 4.      Last Mile (Local Loop)

RAD offers an array of Last Mile product solutions for extending multiple services transparently end-to-end over copper, fiber and wireless access infrastructure from DSLAMs, SDH/SONET or packet switched networks. RAD’s portfolio also includes aggregation capabilities for handing off traffic to SDH/SONET and packet switched networks.

 

  5.      Voice Products

 Carriers and enterprises are looking for ways to reduce costs by transporting their voice traffic with greater bandwidth efficiency. This can be achieved by implementing state-of-the-art voice trunking and compression algorithms, and by converging voice and data traffic over packet switched networks, using 3G media gateways, or standard Voice over IP (VoIP) solutions.

 

  6.      ATM Access

 For many years, ATM has been the networking technology of choice for service delivery with end-to-end quality. Today, while service providers are gradually starting to migrate to Carrier Ethernet and other alternative technologies, ATM access networks are still widely deployed – supporting, for example, the majority of First Mile DSL connections – and will remain operational for some time to come. Carriers and service providers are therefore looking for reliable solutions to leverage their large ATM installed base for both LAN-to-LAN connectivity and legacy traffic transport.

 

 7.     TDM Pseudowire

 During the last decade, pseudowire technology has been established as the de-facto enabler for migrating legacy communications services to economical, higher bandwidth packet switched networks (PSNs). Today, TDM pseudowires are implemented in many mainstream services, transparently carrying voice, video and data traffic end-to-end over Ethernet, IP or MPLS  backbones.

 

 8.      Converters and Connectivity

 Many IT users still work in an environment using legacy equipment typically characterized by lower speed data rates and specialized data communications protocols. RAD is one of the few vendors in the market today offering connectivity products for these devices.

 

  9.       Network Management

 As the world becomes more dependent on advanced computerized systems for managing operations in real time, the demand for control and monitoring is surging. The existence of heterogeneous networks creates a challenge for network managers, who must manage networks consisting of many types of equipment from different vendors.

 

  10.      Global Professional Services

 The easiest part about selecting the right vendor for your network is to compare product features and price tags. The hardest part is to judge those intangibles that don’t show up on a scorecard or checklist, such as the determination of a service representative to see a problem through to its swift resolution or the help of a training specialist in shortening system turn-up time for your new network devices.

3. Транспортная инфраструктура сотовых сетей.

Совместная передача трафика сетей 3П и 2G по инфраструктуре, ранее обслуживавшей только сети 2G. Ввысокоточная синхронизация в пакетных сетях. Подключение базовых станций 2G и 3G по xDSL/ DSLAM.

 

 

4. AXCESS+: Мультисервисная платформа доступа TDM

Ядром обновлённой платформы доступа ACCESS+ от RAD, стал мультиплексор MEGAPLEX – 4100, превосходящий по параметрам своих предшественников – MEGAPLEX-2100 и DXC-30. В главе так же рассмотрены новые и хорошо известные мультиплексоры TDM каналов, семейств DXC, Megaplex, Kilomux, FCD, Optimux.
